| The 1st International Conference on Large-Scale Grid Integration of Renewable Energy in India was endorsed by the Indian Ministry of New and Renewable Energy as well as the Indian Ministry of Power and organized by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and Energynautics, Germany.
The Government of India has set the very ambitious goal to install 175 GW of renewable energy generation capacity by 2022. Grid integration thus becomes a very critical challenge to successfully accomplish this target. This international conference has connected international experts and Indian stakeholders to jointly discuss the latest technological, regulatory and conceptual developments in this field.

"International experts from power utilities (MISO, Xcel Energy, Energinet, etc.) system operators (ERCOT, 50 Hertz, ENTSO, etc.) technical institutions (NREL, LBNL, IEA, IRENA, etc.) regulators (NARUC) and private organisations (GE, AWS, Truepower, Siemens, etc.) from the US, Germany and other European countries shared their project experiences, innovative ideas, and results from ongoing research. The result was dissemination of an ocean of knowledge for all the participants, who attended the Conference. The discussions and interactions that took place during the Conference informally and during the breaks, specially helped me, as well as, I am sure, those who were present. I compliment USAID, GIZ and Energynautics for holding this Conference and urge them to continue holding such conferences, for the larger benefit of all the countries in the world."
